Founder & President

 

Chris is the Founder and President of New Star Sanctuary, an organization born from compassion and action. After witnessing the growing need for equine support in her community, she began opening her own property to retired, unwanted, and abused horses—providing them with the safety and dignity they deserved.

 

Realizing the need was greater than any one person could meet alone, Chris officially founded New Star Sanctuary in 2026 to expand that mission. Today, she leads daily operations, oversees rehabilitation efforts, and guides community outreach initiatives, all with one unwavering goal: to give as many horses as possible a second chance at a safe and meaningful life.

Vice President

As Vice President of New Star Sanctuary, Lena brings both heart and hands-on experience to the organization. A strong advocate for equine welfare, she is committed to fostering community engagement and advancing the sanctuary’s mission.

 

Raised helping on her grandparents’ farm, Lena developed a deep-rooted passion for animal care that continues to guide her work today. Outside of her leadership role, she owns and operates Lemont Studio, where her creative eye and storytelling skills further strengthen the sanctuary’s outreach and visual presence.​​​​​​​​​

 

Secretary / Marketing & Media

As Secretary of New Star Sanctuary, Kostik supports the organization’s operations while helping strengthen its marketing and media presence. He is dedicated to ensuring clear communication, organized governance, and meaningful storytelling that connects the community to the sanctuary’s mission.

 

Outside of his work with the organization, Kostik enjoys flying planes — a passion that speaks to his precision, responsibility, and adventurous spirit.​​​​​​​​​
